About Our PPG

Welcome to the Robin Hood Lane Health Centre Patient Participation Group (PPG). We are a group of volunteer patients working together with the practice staff and GPs to improve the services offered to our patients and to promote health and wellbeing in our community.

Our Aims

  • To foster improved communication between the practice and its patients
  • To help patients use the facilities to the best advantage
  • To collect patient opinions and experiences to help the practice further improve its services
  • To support the practice in its dealings with other bodies
  • To promote health education and encourage proactive healthcare

What We Do

Our PPG meets regularly to discuss practice issues and patient experience. We work on various projects throughout the year, including:

  • Conducting patient surveys
  • Organising health awareness events
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on practice policies
  • Supporting the practice in communicating changes to services
  • Representing patient views in practice decision-making processes

You Said, We Did

At Robin Hood Lane Health Centre, we value all patient feedback and use it to improve our services. The following changes were implemented based on feedback from our wider patient group:

Joining our Patient Participation Group (PPG) is the best way to regularly meet with practice management and discuss our services on an ongoing basis. PPG members have the opportunity to contribute directly to the decision-making process and help shape the future of our practice.

December 2024

You Said:
"It's taking too long to get through on the phones."

We Did:
We audited all requests coming through reception and implemented changes, including updating the phone message. These actions have led to improved wait times. We are also introducing an AI agent to help reduce waiting times on the phone.
April 2024

You Said:
"Appointment waiting times are too long."

We Did:
We employed an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to assist and increased routine appointments. As a result, waiting times have been reduced from 8 weeks to 4 weeks.
March 2024

You Said:
"We need more in-person digital support."

We Did:
An SWL NHS App support person has conducted two sessions to assist patients with digital access.
November 2023

You Said:
"We want a chance to have our say and hear from you."

We Did:
We organised an Anima engagement evening on 8th May 2024 to facilitate open discussion and gather feedback.
September 2023

You Said:
"Anima should open earlier for those who work."

We Did:
Anima is now open from 7:30am to accommodate patients with early work schedules.

Recent Activities

Our wonderful PPG volunteers helped us run our successful flu clinic this year which was a huge success! Thank you!

We had a hugely successful open evening for our patients, showcasing our wide variety of additional staff we have at the practice, including our pharmacists, health coach and social prescribers!

We’re always looking for new members to join our Patient Participation Group. Your involvement can make a real difference in shaping the services at Robin Hood Lane Health Centre.

Who Can Join?

Any patient registered at Robin Hood Lane Health Centre can join the PPG. We value diversity and welcome members from all backgrounds and age groups.

Time Commitment

We understand that everyone has different commitments. You can choose your level of involvement:

  • Attend quarterly meetings (approximately 2 hours each)
  • Participate in specific projects or subgroups
  • Contribute ideas and feedback via email if you can’t attend meetings

How to Join

Joining the PPG is easy. You can:

  1. Complete our online application form: PPG Application Form
  2. Pick up an application form from the surgery reception or if you prefer, you can download the sign-up form below, print it out, fill it in, and post it to the Practice, put it through the letterbox, or hand it to a Receptionist.
  3. Email us at [email protected]
  4. Speak to a member of staff at your next visit

After we receive your application, a member of the PPG will contact you with more information and invite you to our next meeting.
