The practice nurses are available by appointment. They can help you with minor injuries, dressings, injections, removal of stitches, ear syringing etc.
Our nurses have undertaken specialist training and also offer family planning, diabetes, asthma and hypertension clinics. They can advise on and administer both travel and children’s immunisations. They are also involved in health promotion activities within the surgery and offer well person health checks, smear tests and general advice. They undertake special projects called audits to evaluate the services offered. We encourage our patients to have vaccinations for flu every year, this is usually available at the end of September or the beginning of October. Please ring early in September to make an appointment with our nurses for advice.
The health care assistant is part of nursing team, assisting the nurses and also offering health checks to our newly registered patients. She also provides blood pressure checks, blood tests, B12 and Flu injections.
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Minal can deal with all your medicine management.
